There are multiple ways to opt-out of personalized ads, cookies, and other data collection. To help you protect your privacy further, we’ve collected the most common options below.

Opt-out of 1SE app analytics (iOS only)

Apple: Tap on the Profile picture at the top left > tap Settings (gear icon) to the right > More Settings > Analytics. Toggle the permission to the access level you’d prefer.

Opt-out of 1SE location permission

  • Apple: On your phone's Settings > tap 1SE > Location. Toggle the permission to the access level you’d prefer.

  • Android: On your phone's Settings > Location > App location permissions > 1SE. Toggle the permission to the access level you’d prefer.

NOTE: Please keep in mind by limiting 1SE location permission the app will be unable to use the location of your snippets in the caption.

Opt-out of 1SE marketing & promotion emails

At the bottom of all of our marketing emails is an “unsubscribe” option. Clicking this, and confirming, will remove you from our marketing email list.

Opt-out of 1SE completely (account deletion)

If you want to completely opt-out of 1SE, you’ll need to delete your account. This will delete everything tied to you and is not reversible. If you still want to take this action, we have an in-depth article on the steps to take.

Opt-out of device ad-tracking

Apple and Google both provide ways to opt-out of interest-based advertising, also known as personalized ads. These are ads that use collected data about you to deliver targeted ads based on your interest and internet usage.

  • Apple: On your phone's Settings > Privacy > Advertisement > Limit ad tracking. Toggle it off, then select “Reset Advertising Identifier.”

  • Android: On your phone's Settings > Google > Ads > Opt out of Ads Personalization. Toggle it off, then tap on “Reset advertising ID.”

  • Windows 10: On your phone's Settings > Privacy > General > toggle off the first feature to share the advertising ID with apps.

Detailed step-by-step instructions can be found over at Privacy Savvy or you can learn more at Apple’s help article and Google’s help article on controlling personalized ads.

NOTE: This will only opt you out of interest-based advertising and not block ads.
