The biggest difference between a 1SE Cloud backup and an iCloud backup is who can check it. Your 1SE Cloud backup is stored on our own servers (hosted on Amazon Web Services), so if something goes wrong, we can verify what was stored, debug the process, and restore it for you.
An iCloud backup is a copy of your whole iPhone that only Apple holds. If a restore from iCloud doesn't bring your snippets back, there isn't much we can do to verify what was stored or recover them.
If you like to play it extra safe, keep your 1SE Cloud backup running with a Pro subscription while still creating iCloud backups as usual.
