When you start a mash, you choose which snippets go into it: a month, a year, a season or your own selection.
On iOS
Tap the play button in a project to open the Mash Your Memories screen.
From here, you can select to mash by Months, Years, Seasons, Core Memories, Shuffle or Custom:
Months: Snippets are grouped by the month they were added. Use this to mash a specific month (e.g., September ’25).
Years: Snippets are grouped by year. Use this to mash an entire year (e.g., 2025).
Seasons: Snippets are grouped by season (Winter, Spring, Summer, Fall). Select this to mash snippets from a specific season.
Core Memories: Mash only snippets tagged as Core Memories.
Shuffle: Generate a random 30-second mash of your memories.
Custom: Manually select the snippets you want to mash.
Core Memories appears once you've tagged at least one Core Memory, and Shuffle once your project has more than 30 seconds of snippets.
On Android
Tap the round play button in your project.
Tap Choose Dates on the mashing screen.
In this drawer, you can choose between the following options:
Week: Mash either this week or last week.
Month: Mash either this month or last month.
Year: Select a specific year to mash.
All: (Android only) Mashes the entire project.
Custom: Manually select snippets to combine from your project's timeline.
Date Range: Choose a specific date range, providing starting and end dates.
What gets mashed?
On iOS
Months
In the Months option, you can select a specific month to mash snippets added during that month.
Years
In the Years option, you can select a specific year to mash snippets added during the entire year.
Seasons
In the Seasons option, you can select a specific season to mash snippets added from a particular season (Winter, Fall, Summer, Spring).
Core Memories
In the Core Memories option, you can quickly mash snippets tagged as Core Memories.
Shuffle
In the Shuffle option, you can generate a random 30-second mash of your memories in the selected project.
On Android
Week / month
The Week and Month options each offer two choices — this week or last week, this month or last month. Pick one; the two cannot be combined.
Year
This lists every year your project has snippets in. Pick one and the whole year is mashed — one year at a time.
Custom mash
Tapping Manual Selection under Custom in the iOS app or Custom in the Android app opens the project gallery. Here, you can combine all your snippets, create a custom range, or make an arbitrary selection.
To mash All the snippets in a project, tap Select (All).

Date range
On iOS, tap Choose Dates at the bottom of your Mash Your Memories screen. Tap the first day you want, then the last; every day in between is included. Tap Add to Mash to open your mash.
On Android, use the Date Range selector to set your mash's start and end dates. Choose a From date and a To date to mash all snippets within that period.
