With 1SE, you can craft snippets that are 1 or 1.5 seconds long. If you're eager to create longer snippets of up to 10 seconds, you can unlock that feature with a Pro subscription.
To achieve this, choose the length of your snippet from the options shown on the snippet selector screen and observe it change by increments of 0.5 seconds.

Once you set the length of your snippet, all subsequent snippets added to that project will automatically use the same length until you change it again.
