How to Use a Freestyle Collab Project

Collaborate on a project with friends and family.

You can use Freestyle Collab projects to meaningfully share, create, and mash videos with up to six people. Only one needs to be a Pro subscriber!

A Freestyle Collab project is excellent for sharing memories of your kids with your partner, staying in touch with those away, or recording group adventures.

How does it work?

Create a Freestyle Collab

  1. Open 1SE.

  2. Tap Project from the menu tabs.

  3. Tap on the Project name at the top-left corner to open up the Project menu.

  4. Tap Add Project.

  5. Select Freestyle Collab.

  6. Tap Create Project.

  7. Enter the Group name of your project.

  8. Tap Done.

Android

  1. Open 1SE.

  2. Tap Add Project at the top of the Dashboard screen.

  3. Tap "Freestyle Collab."

  4. Tap "Create Project."

  5. Enter a name for your project.

  6. Tap "Done."

You can create as many as you need with a Pro subscription!

Create a Snippet

Creating a snippet here works like everywhere else in the app. You can learn more about it in this article.

Reorder Snippets

Long-tap to drag-and-drop any second around to reorder it.

Delete a Snippet

If you tap the kebab icon at the top-left corner of the snippet's preview, you'll see the option to delete it from the project.

CAUTION: This action is permanent, and it affects all collaborators.

Change the Project's Name

  1. Tap the project name at the top-left of the project screen to bring up the list of projects.

  2. Slide left or tap and hold on the freestyle collab project indicated by a "collab" tag that you’d want to edit and choose "Settings".

  3. Tap on the pencil icon next to Project Name under the Project Details section.

  4. Enter the new project name, then tap "Done" on the keyboard.​

  1. To open the project's settings, tap the kebab icon in the top-right corner of your Collab project card.

  2. Next, tap the pencil icon to the right of your project's name.

  3. Finally, select the new name and tap "Rename" to save your changes, or tap "Cancel" to exit without making any changes.

Join a Group

You can join by tapping the invite link provided by a Collab member or entering the invite code in the app.

To use the invite code

  1. Open 1SE.

  2. Tap Project from the menu tabs.

  3. Tap on the Project name at the top-left corner to open up the Project menu.

  4. Tap Add Project.

  5. Tap "Join group using code" under Freestyle Collab.

  6. Enter your code.

  7. Tap "Join."

  2. Tap "Add Project" at the top of the Dashboard screen.

  3. Tap "Join group using code" under Freestyle Collab.

  4. Enter your code.

  5. Tap "Join."

Invite Collaborators

  1. To open the project's settings, tap the kebab icon at the top right of your Collab project card.

  2. In the Collaborators section, tap the plus sign icon to invite up to five (5) other users.

Only one group member needs an active Pro subscription to unlock the project.

Open or Close a Project

To adjust who can join your group, open the Freestyle Collab project settings, then use the toggle switch in the Invite Settings section to allow or restrict group access if there are fewer than six (6) members.

Change the Invite Link

  1. To open the project's settings, tap the kebab icon at the top right of your Collab project card.

  2. Next, tap "Change invite link" in the Invite Settings section, and accept by tapping "Change Key."

The key also changes when you manually re-open a group.

Leave a Project

  1. Open the Freestyle Collab project settings.

  2. Next, tap "Leave Project," but be aware that you'll lose access to the project and its snippets if you do so.

If you're the only Pro subscriber in the group, the project will be disabled for the remaining members.

  2. Next, tap "Delete Project," but be aware that you'll lose access to the project and its snippets if you do this.

CAUTION: This action is irreversible.
