Working with HD videos on the 1SE app, even in seconds, adds up and can use a significant amount of your storage space. You can optimize or archive your project in 1SE to save storage space.

Available on iOS only and requires a subscription

How to optimize storage

Space optimizing allows you to compress the snippets on a selected project to save up to ~80% of your disk space.

  1. Tap on the kebab menu icon (vertical dots) at the top-right of the project's card to open the "Project Settings" screen.

  2. Under Project Storage Setting, tap "Space Optimized" to optimize the selected project.

  3. The project card will show a "Spaced Optimized" indicator to show which projects have been optimized:

  • The entire project is backed up on the 1SE Cloud, and a space-optimized version (720p resolution) is kept locally on your device for viewing, editing, and export.

  • The snippets are compressed and the exported video will be in SD resolution (720p).

  • New snippets added will automatically be optimized after backing up to 1SE Cloud.

  • All content has been backed up to 1SE Cloud, which can be safely restored anytime.

How to archive a project

Archiving a project allows you to offload the project from your phone to free up space.

We recommend only archiving projects that have been finished and that you don't need to open or edit frequently.

  1. Tap on the kebab menu icon (vertical dots) at the top-right of the project's card to open the "Project Settings" screen.

  2. Under Project Storage Setting, tap "Archived" to archive the selected project.

  3. The project card will turn black & white, and an "Archived" indicator will appear.

  • Archived projects can't be viewed, edited, or exported.

  • All content has been backed up to 1SE Cloud, which can be safely restored anytime.

  • Depending on the size of the archived project, unarchiving (restoring) may take some time.

How to restore the full version of your project

You can restore your archived or space-optimized projects to their full version anytime.

  1. Tap the kebab menu icon (vertical dots) at the top-right of the archived or space-optimized project's card to open the "Project Settings" screen.

  2. Tap on "Full (Uncompressed)" to restore the project to its full quality (HD).

Depending on the size of the archived or space-optimized project, unarchiving (restoring) may take some time.

Viewing the project storage size

  1. Tap on settings at the top right-hand corner of the screen.

  2. Go to "Backup and Restore".

  3. Scroll down to view Project Size on Device.

  4. You can also directly turn on storage optimization for all projects by tapping "Turn On Storage Optimization".

Snippet Limitations of Archived and Optimized Projects

Space Optimized Projects

When project is space optimized, all snippet actions are allowed with the following exceptions:

  • Copying a snippet from a space-optimized project to another project is not allowed. The "Post to project" option from the snippet editor won't be available to use.

  • Editing a snippet is disabled if the original is no longer available in the photo library.

Archived Projects

  • The project is locked and no actions are allowed. You won't be able to add, view, edit snippets or mash the project.

  • It’s also not allowed to post from another project into an archived project (the archived projects won’t show up when you post a snippet to another project).
