The best way to get started is by selecting a couple of seconds for the previous week. You can always go back and delete the ones you don't like—this gets you comfortable with 1SE and having fun right away!

iOS

Android

Using the in-app camera

You can start adding content to any project by tapping the record button on the home screen. You can use the in-app camera or swipe left (iOS only) to select content from your library.

Using the media selector

You can also add content from within your projects. In a Journal project, go into any day with a camera icon on it. This icon lets you know that there's a video or photo for that day in your library. The last available day in the calendar grid will always be TODAY.

Once inside a day, you have a couple of great options. You can add a second (or multiple if you have a Pro subscription) or create a journal entry. We're going to cover selecting a second of a video. Tap the + icon to add a snippet.

The media selector will show up with all the videos, Live Photos, and photos you have available. We prioritize videos from that day by putting them at the top. You can see the videos for December 26, 2021, in the iOS example and for May 11, 2022, in the Android example. You can also open the camera to record a video with the "Camera" button at this screen's bottom-left or by swiping right.

Customizing your snippet

Once you've selected a video you want to use, you'll see our snippet selector screen. On this screen, you will be able to do a ton of great stuff with your video, like "Rotate", "Fit to Frame" (iOS), adjust the "Volume", and more.

You can use the arrows on both sides of the video scrubber to go frame by frame to find that perfect moment. You can preview your selected second by pressing the "Preview" button on the bottom-left of the screen.

Once you've found that perfect moment, tap the teal "Trim" button on the bottom-right to create the snippet.

Saving your snippet

Once you've selected your second, you will be able to add a caption to it (or location) and decide whether you want to post it to another project too. If you're going to copy the snippet to Crowds, make sure to mark the box for "Share Snippet to Crowds" on that screen (iOS only).

Editing your snippet

You can always replace, copy, edit, or delete a snippet by tapping the ellipsis (...) icon on the top right-hand corner of the thumbnail.
