This guide walks you through your first few minutes with 1SE on iPhone: the welcome screens, your first snippet, and your first mash.
Step 1: Get through the welcome screens
Download 1 Second Everyday from the App Store and open it. A short welcome follows:
Tap Next through the intro, then tap Start my journey.
On What do you want to remember?, swipe through the cards, pick the one that fits, and tap I Want To Remember This. Then tap Continue.
On Get a 1SE preview!, tap Make My Video. 1SE asks for access to your photo library: tap Allow Full Access so it can see all your videos and photos. Nothing leaves your phone.
Watch the short preview 1SE made from your library. Tap Save & Continue to keep it in your Photos, or Continue Without Saving.
Next comes the Pro offer with a free trial. To start with the free version, tap skip at the top right. You can subscribe later from the Get Pro tab.
Choose when you’d like a daily reminder (morning, afternoon or evening) and tap Continue, then Allow. Or tap I’ll choose my time later.
Create an account with Google, Apple or email, or tap Skip at the top right. 1SE works without an account; you need one for 1SE Cloud Backup and Freestyle Collab projects.
You land on your first project, My 1SE: a calendar with today highlighted. Along the bottom are the Now, Project, Rewind, Get Pro and Profile tabs.
Step 2: Add your first snippet
Tap a day in the calendar. Days with a camera icon have videos or photos in your library from that date.
On the Your Day screen, tap Add snippet.
Pick a video or photo, then tap Add 1 snippet to project. To record something new instead, tap the camera icon at the top right.
On Select your Snippet, drag along the video to choose your second. You can also change the Length, Fit to Frame, Flip or Rotate it, and tap Preview to watch it.
Tap Log.
The snippet appears on the day, where you can add a caption, share it or edit it. For more, see How to Create a Snippet.
Step 3: Fill more days
You need at least 7 snippets before you can make a mash. The quickest way to get there is Quick Fill: tap the yellow Quick Fill button on the calendar, tap Show me a preview, then Add to Project. It only fills empty days, using videos from your library on the matching dates. See How to Use Quick Fill.
Step 4: Make your first mash
Tap the teal play button on the calendar to open the mash screen, choose the dates to include, and save or share the result. See How to Create a Mashed Video.
